January 2026 | Rescue to Restore Update

We’re taking real, tangible next steps—moving from a commitment to rescue and restore survivors of human trafficking into a lifestyle that supports freedom every day. As this work continues, there will be ongoing opportunities for you to engage in education and prevention, support rescue efforts, use your voting power to advocate for change across our state and nation, and come alongside the critical work of survivor restoration.

And you’re already stepping in.

Combating trafficking within our walls

Organizations across our area are reporting a significant increase in volunteer interest as they process applications and conduct trainings—preparing volunteers for the stories and realities they’ll encounter. On January 15, our Lafayette Campus hosted Re-fined (re-fined.org) for an Awareness Training that offered insight into human trafficking here in Colorado—what it looks like, the forms it takes, risk factors, survivor needs, and how we can play a positive role in addressing both the upstream and practical impacts of trafficking through Re-fined’s work.

That night, 263 people attended—Re-fined’s largest training to date. Their team was especially encouraged by the number of men present who wanted to learn how to practically combat trafficking, by those already passionate about this work who are continuing to grow their knowledge and networks, and by attendees who were struck by the reality that human trafficking is not a distant issue—it’s happening right here in the Denver metro area.

Students serving survivors

Last fall, during the launch of Be Free, our Student Ministry from all Flatirons campuses demonstrated incredible generosity by gifting Re-fined survivor care bags—filled with simple but meaningful items like warm socks, toiletries, notebooks, and gift cards. Students also included handwritten notes of encouragement and love, making personal connections to the role they can play in supporting survivor restoration. Throughout the gift drive, students learned more about sexual exploitation, how to protect themselves, and how to recognize signs that peers in their own communities may be at risk.

During our Christmas services, your generosity made it possible to gift Safe Places for Women $30,000 to support the growth of their safe home and survivor care programs, as well as to expand outreach nights along East Colfax. Through weekly outreach, Safe Places teams meet women who are often trafficked between major U.S. cities. The constant movement creates isolation and removes opportunities to learn where help exists.

Hope on East Colfax

As Safe Places shared, “Outreach Teams know they may only get one moment. One chance to look a woman in the eye and remind her she is not invisible, that she is not forgotten, that there is another way—even if today isn’t the day she will take it.” Through prayer, a remembered name, and a small act of comfort, you are playing a role in freedom on Colfax.

The impact of a Digital Missionary

At this year’s She Is Women’s Conference, we launched a new partnership with Scarlet Hope, whose mission is to bring the love of Jesus to women in the adult entertainment industry through gospel-centered community. As part of this launch, Flatirons women will have the opportunity to join Scarlet Hope as digital missionaries—using an online platform to connect with women soliciting online.

Digital Outreach creates a safe and secure space for individuals exploited online to hear the hope of Jesus while receiving support and resources needed to break free from a life of hopelessness. Through text outreach, volunteers connect with women who feel unseen, unknown, and unloved—offering community, hope, and love.

Scarlet Hope will host a virtual Digital Outreach Interest Meeting on Monday, February 23, at 7:30 pm MST. If you’re interested in attending or learning more, let us know through this form.

Rescue to Restore goes global

In March, Flatirons Church will send a team of nine to Cambodia to facilitate a Soul Care Retreat for staff working alongside survivors through our partnership with AIM. This retreat will create space for spiritual, mental, and physical renewal through rest and intentional time with God. Our team has been hand-selected for their relational strengths and backgrounds that support Jesus’ healing in safe, connected environments.

As one team member shared, “There is no possible way you can hear about the work being done by AIM and not want to get involved in some way. To think that this trip will be about caring for these amazing workers doing the frontline work of rescue and restoration makes me so grateful for a God who sees their need—and for Flatirons for answering the call to meet that need.”

Flatirons, we are thrilled about the Rescue to Restore opportunities that have already begun. And we are just getting started.
