Week 5: Shared Freedom
“Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 (CSB)
We’ve all heard the phrase, “Find your people.” It often comes up during tough times when life feels too heavy to carry alone. While the world encourages self-reliance, the truth is this: We’re not meant to do it on our own.
God has good intentions for us, and He knows exactly who we need to surround ourselves with so we can grow in faith. In Galatians 6:10,Paul urges us to fight for each other’s freedom in Jesus and help carry the burdens of others: “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the house-hold of faith.”When we do this, we’ll find that our circle will also help us, and we will always have God fighting for us to live the life He has carefully planned.
Finding people who will walk with you in your journey with Jesus isn’t always quick or easy, but it will change your life. A strong community will reveal just how good Jesus is and how deeply He loves you. They will help you discover your purpose in God’s plan.
So here’s the challenge: Find your people and fight for them. Maybe it’s a family member, a friend, or even an old acquain-tance. Whoever God puts on your heart—text them, pray with them, invite them in, and simply be present. Fight for each other’s freedom the way Jesus fights for you every day. Challenges will always come, but growing your relationship with God and His people will help you keep your peace and freedom. And when you feel alone or weighed down by life, remember—Jesus never intended for you to walk through anything by yourself.
Reflect
Have you found your people? Who are they? How can you encourage them this week?
If not, what step can you take today to find them?
Whose burden can you help carry this week—through prayer, encouragement, or practical help?
5:01 Freedom Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for walking with me and giving me the kind of freedom only You can give. I want my life to reflect Your love in the way I love others.
Lead me to the people who will walk with me and help me fight for freedom. And make me that person for someone else.
Today, I release anything pulling me away from You or isolating me from others. Silence the lies. Change what needs to change. Make me whole. Make me free.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
